Science and technology are generally understood as means to facilitate life and drive progress. Various innovations continue to be developed to address increasingly complex needs, with directions that may vary. These efforts have their role, yet they do not fully address the underlying foundation in understanding human issues. At a deeper level, the function of science and technology is not determined solely by their sophistication, but by the people who carry them out—more specifically, by the state of the self that underlies them.
From the perspective of self-alignment, science and technology do not stand alone, as they always involve human participation. When this role is not grounded in an aligned inner state, what is produced may shift in function—no longer aligned with its original purpose, and potentially used beyond its intended scope. Conversely, when the self is aligned, the use of science and technology finds its direction more appropriately—aligned with its purpose, more holistic needs, and sustainability.
Ultimately, science and technology attain their full meaning when those who carry them out are in an aligned state. Through self-alignment, the way they are understood, developed, and applied becomes clearer. In this condition, science and technology are no longer merely tools, but become part of a process that unfolds with greater precision, direction, wisdom, and sustainability.
